Dr. says negative to yeast/bacteria infection, but still have symptoms?
Question by EE326: Dr. says negative to yeast/bacteria infection, but still have symptoms?
I have been checked and treated for both bacterial and yeast infections since August. I was finally “cured” about 2 months ago after trying every single treatment (finally, it was a long course treatment of diflucan and metrogel that worked). I just went back to a new dr b/c i moved cities and they said i had another yeast. They gave me diflucan. A week later I went for a follow up and still had “slight” yeast. They gave me gynazole and did a culture. The culture came back negative for everything! according to these tests I am “cured’ but still having some symptoms (painful sex, discharge). it is not STD’s because I have only had one partner in my entire life, and my last doc did some std tests anyways just to be safe.
This dr. wants to check me for stds again even though i know it is not that. I just don’t understand why i am still having symptoms but the tests show the yeast and bacteria are gone. What should I do? Getting married in 3 weeks…want to be cured for honeymoon!

Drink a lot of cranberry juice, and get in an oatmeal bath every night til it goes away. Also eat a lot of yogurt.
What do you think? Answer below!

Listen to your doctor. If he/she wants to run the STD tests let them. Something might have been missed the first time around. Don’t know what to tell ya about the symptoms… why didn’t you’re doctor prescribe you something else?
I would go to a urologist next. You could have cystis which mimcs UTI’s and are just as crappy!! Good luck
I have had some of the same problems and this is what I have done. I went to the Doctor same as you, and I kept getting yeast infection like symptoms and discharge. it dawned on me one day while using a different soap, well only because I was burning, lol, but the point i am trying to make is that I have learned that my little Virgina is very sensitive. I started watching what I use I take only clear water baths now, no bubbles, I only use summers eve sensitive skin wash to wash my Vagina, and no douching. Ask your Doctor about it, it has made a difference in the pH balance, your might just be off due to products. I could be batting a thousand but what could it hurt.
do you use latex condoms? if you do… some women is allergic to the latex and can cause bacterial infection because your body sees the latex as a foreign object and the white blood cells tries to clear it up and the bacteria becomes too many and causes bacterial infection. after treatment… it takes a while for your body to get back to normal but if you use latex condoms again… your infection will return. your solution is to use lambskin condoms by trojen because it’s natural but it only protects against pregnacy and not std’s. so if your partner contracted std’s it could spread to you. or you can use this other type that’s made by Durex called Avanti Non Latex condoms . so, good luck to you. may you be healthy and happy.
