Question by UNeverKnow: for those who have had them before, what is your FIRST notion that you have a yeast infection?
i have that little itch. no “cottage cheese” yet, but its that tiny little itch in there, is this a sign that the Yeast Beeaatch is on it’s way? I’ve had two prior to this, the first time i didn’t know what was going on, the second time i didn’t really realize what the “beginning symptoms” were but this time I think that it might be on its way!

Yeah, it usually starts with the itch, then the burn, then the real fun starts. Gotta love being a girl.

it could be. if it burns to pee it could be a urinary tract infection, which can feel the same. there’s nothing wrong with getting some cream, and if it’s not, the cream/pills/whatever won’t harm you by any means. better safe than sorry!

Definitely the itch. Get the cream and put just on the outside. Sometimes, if you catch it early enough, that’s all it takes.

I didn’t realize I had one the first time either. I’d say the discharge was the first sign. It went from thin and white to a thicker substance. I believe it had a different oder, also.

Burning and itching! It is a bitch because the yeast infection meds are so damn expensive it sucks. Eating yoghurt that have live/active cultures also helps restore things to the way they should be (some people even stick it directly on the problem – the plain, not strawberry, of course!)

You would normally itch on the outside of the vigina. As it gets more irritated by tight clothes or scratching, the yeast travels up the vigina to find a warmer enviornment to spread.

A creamy liquid discharge.

Avoid antibiotics like the plague. They kill off the healthy bacteria and will cause a Yeast infection.

Taking Acidophiles tablets from a health food department will help. Or eating yogurt with live cultures (read the package) Acidophiles is in the yogurt.

Use wet wipes every time you go to the restroom.

I saw that someone called it Thrush. Thrush is what they call a yeast infection when a baby becomes orally infected during birth.

Go to Wal Mart and get yourself a bottle of acidophiles or get a yogurt that has that as one of the first few ingredients. This will help tremendously. Get in the habit of taking that acidophiles whenever you are put on any kind of antibiotics. This is usually what causes a yeast infection. Antibiotic wipe the body clean of ALL bacteria when in fact, we need the good stuff and the bifidus to maintain a healthy bacteria balance. It can actually be dangerous to your system to not have this good stuff for a period of time as that is what fights disease off.

Ok start eating yogurt with live cultures. Sometimes if it’s only itching this can head it off. If you are taking Antibiotics they kill all the bacteria including the good bacteria in your system the yogurt will help restore it. I also find when I’m getting a YI that there is a bread smell and also i feel tenderness when i pee

Yup, the little itch is the first symptom. Head it off at the first sign and you can stop it in its tracks. Acidophilus (keep it refrigerated if it needs it), maybe get a cream to help with the itching, and wear cotton panties not nylon or polyester so that way the area can “breathe” and not harbor yeast growth.
You should also get a more detailed medical exam next time you’re in to the doctor, because when you have so many of them in a row there usually is another factor causing a yeast imbalance in your entire system, unfortunately it affects that area the most cuz it’s a moist environment.
